The Habit of Good Decision Making

Preached by

When faced with difficult decisions, it’s easy to become overwhelmed and lost, unsure of the right path forward. But focusing on God’s guidance can illuminate the right choices, opening doors to peace, wisdom and divine opportunities. With patience and prayer, we can find the wisdom to choose rightly – choices that lead to a life of purpose aligned with God’s will.

  1. Develop the habit of spending daily time with God. This will help you seek God’s guidance and make good decisions.
  2. Work through the decision by seeking God. Get to a place of complete surrender, wanting only God’s will.
  3. Look for windows of direction from God: spiritual growth, peace in the struggle, and hope.
  4. Wait for God’s perfect timing. Don’t get impatient. God’s timing is critical for success.
  5. Walk through the doors God opens for you. Take steps of faith, even if you’re not 100% certain.
  6. Build an altar and worship God both before and after making a decision. Thank God in advance through faith, and after through gratitude.
  7. God will make a way for you. Trust that he sees you, cares for you, and will never forget you. He can open any door.

As you seek God’s guidance for your decisions, remember that he has a purpose and plan for your life. The doors he opens and the timing of your journey is meant to shape you into the person you were created to be.

Don’t be afraid to walk through the doors of opportunity he places before you, even if you can’t see the whole path yet. Trust that he who created the universe has the wisdom and power to guide your steps and bring you peace.

Take that first step of faith today, and keep walking through the doors he opens, one decision at a time. Let your choices lead you closer to God and to a life of meaning and purpose.
