God’s guidance comes through His Word. As we see in the story of Gideon, God has spoken clearly through Scripture and we do not need to seek signs and wonders in addition to what He has already revealed.
The story of Gideon shows us lessons about God’s guidance. As Gideon wrestled with following God’s will, we see two key points for how we can know God’s guidance today.
God has spoken through His Word
God spoke to Gideon multiple times, yet Gideon kept asking for signs. God’s promises in Scripture are trustworthy and true. As 2 Timothy 3 teaches, all Scripture is breathed out by God and has everything we need to know God and live for Him. We do not need to seek guidance outside of what God has already revealed.
God is with us
Gideon doubted that God was with him, but God assured him of His presence. Through Jesus, God became flesh to dwell among us. If we have faith in Christ, God is with us by His Spirit to guide and help us.
God has spoken clearly through His Word and He is with us by His Spirit. As we stand on Scripture and trust in God’s presence, we can know His guidance and follow His leading.
