Abundant Not Abandoned

Preached by

What if I told you that despite your darkest failures, deepest weaknesses, and most shameful secrets, you have an eternal inheritance waiting for you – an abundance of blessings beyond your wildest dreams?

An inheritance so secure that no weapon formed against you could prevent you from receiving it. An inheritance that means you will never be abandoned or ashamed again.

It sounds too good to be true, yet that is the promise God makes to all who trust in Christ. Today we will explore this abundant inheritance that is ours through the cross.

We Will Inherit Abundant Offspring

This refers not just to physical children but to spiritual offspring through making disciples and spreading the gospel. The church will reproduce and grow despite challenges.

We Will Inherit Abundant Stability

God’s love for us is unchanging and unconditional. His affection does not depend on our performance but on his character. This provides security and stability.

We Will Inherit Abundant Security

In our eternal state, we will experience perfect security with no threats or anxiety. No weapons formed against us will succeed.

We Will Not Be Abandoned

Christ was abandoned on the cross so that we would never have to fear being abandoned by God. Through him, we have an eternal, secure relationship with God.

We Will Not Be Ashamed

God does not shame us for our past failures and sins. Christ bore our shame on the cross. In our eternal state, we will forget the shame of our past.

Reflect on this abundant inheritance that is ours in Christ – offspring, stability, security, freedom from shame and abandonment – and transform how you see yourself and your future. Let go of any unworthiness, distrust, or fear that has held you back from fully receiving and believing God’s love for you. God sees you not as you are now in your weakness, but as you will be in eternity – transformed, secure and free.

Will you receive this gift and this inheritance today? Will you allow God’s unconditional love and acceptance to change how you see yourself and how you live your life? As you go, seek to experience more deeply each day the abundance of God’s love for you. Marvel at the wonder of an inheritance so secure that no mistake you have made, no secret you harbor, could prevent you from receiving it in full through Christ.
